Baseball pitchers can increase the velocity of their throw by using a combination of different exercises and technology for an added boost of acceleration.

Most famous pitchers weren’t born with an enviable form on the field, as many of them likely engaged in physical exercises that improved their mobility, power, stability and strength. In other cases, constant measurement of speed using Stalker Radar guns help in monitoring progress.

Lower Body Strength

Aspiring baseball pitchers hear the common advice of strengthening their arms without mentioning leg development. Strong legs are important for pitchers because a lot of power comes from their lower bodies. They use their hips and thighs to harness power from the ground up to their upper bodies. You can improve your lower body strength by doing block deadlifts.

This type of exercise is done on an elevated platform from the floor, although this workout only focuses on your glutes and hamstrings. Walter Johnson could arguably be the powerful pitcher in baseball history.
